Weymouth Trails

The Georgian seaside town of Weymouth has four free walking trails to follow around the town.

You can see colourful murals and intriguing sculptures or find out about the heritage and nature of the local area.

Weymouth Sculpture Trail

Along the Sculpture Trail you’ll find six artworks which are located around the town and harbourside.

The six specially commissioned sculptures are inspired by the town’s maritime history, and are made with traditional materials or using modern media.

Weymouth Heritage Trail

There are 16 points of interest along the Weymouth Heritage Trail. The Trail is a 1.4 mile (2.3km) accessible walking route along the beach and harbourside.

On the trail you’ll see the colourful Jubilee Clock, King George III’s statue, the town’s lifting bridge and the location where it’s believed that the Black Death entered England in 1348!

Look out for 12 ceramic plaques along the trail telling the story of twelve of the town’s most important locations.

Weymouth Mural Trail

From Overcome to Lodmoor and the town centre to the Harbourside and Nothe Fort, there are 10 locations to discover along this 2.5 mile (4km) Mural Trail.

The flat and accessible Esplanade connects location 1 at Lodmoor Nature Reserve all the way along the beachfront to Greenhill Gardens. You’ll then continue along the Esplanade until you reach the town centre, and then cross the harbour over the lifting bridge.

There’s lots of selfie photo opportunities and it’s a great way to see the town and seafront.

Wild and Weymouth and Portland Legacy Trail

This Legacy Trail is part of the Wild About Weymouth and Portland project. It aims to get more people closer to nature by visiting important wildlife sites in the area.

There are 10 waypoints across Weymouth and the Isle of Portland which are connected by walking routes. Visit places such as RSPB Lodmoor Nature Reserve and Radipole Lake, Lorton Meadows and Portland Bill to discover the wild side Weymouth.
